How to unlock the hunt: Omega and "Far Out"
Omega is a hippie conspiracy theorist convinced that an alien ship crashed somewhere in San Andreas.
He gives you the task in "Far Out", part of the Strangers and Freaks line. The conditions:
- you have to play as Franklin;
- first finish the story mission "Fame or Shame", where Michael and Trevor team up again (the order is on the GTA 5 missions page);
- the mission marker appears by Omega's trailer in Grand Senora Desert, east of Sandy Shores (Senora Desert Trailer Park).
The spaceship parts only appear in the world after this mission. If you look for them earlier, there will be nothing there.
After that, any of the three protagonists can collect them. Michael and Trevor pick up parts too.
What a spaceship part looks like
It is a small device that glows, blinks and beeps or hums. When you are close, the controller vibrates. The sound is especially helpful underwater and in dark tunnels: listen for the hum.
What you will need
- A helicopter. Needed for #9, 12, 15, 20 and 43. You can also jump with a parachute. For #41 on Mount Josiah a helicopter is not required, but without one you would face a long climb down the rocks.
- Swimming and diving. Six parts are on the bottom: #3, 19, 26, 29, 32, 37. Scuba gear or a submarine is not required, you can reach all of them by swimming.
- Patience for climbing. #2, 7, 13, 16, 17 and 46 require climbing ladders, pipes or balconies.
- The two hardest spots. On the Penris Building roof (#12), PowerPyx says to land the helicopter on the two air-conditioning units, jump from them to the low ledge along the wall, and from there to the upper one where the part is. For #43 on the bridge pillar over Cassidy Creek, PowerPyx recommends a helicopter and "extremely steady hands".
According to PowerPyx, helicopters spawn on the Central Los Santos Medical Center helipad (that is spot #9 itself) and on the roof of the Davis Sheriff's Station. If none is there, go down to the street and come back, or save nearby and reload right away. Boats and other vehicles are in the GTA 5 vehicles section.

"The Final Frontier" and the reward
Once you have collected all 50 parts, Omega texts Franklin and asks him to come over. This unlocks the second mission, "The Final Frontier". It takes place in Omega's lab-garage near RON Alternates Wind Farm, in the trailer park in Grand Senora Desert. Again, you have to play as Franklin.
In the cutscene Omega shows a small device built from the 50 parts. It lifts off and glows. Then Omega leaves, and Franklin can take the vehicle.
| What you get | Details |
|---|---|
| Space Docker | A BF buggy, a reworked Dune Buggy |
| Trophy / achievement | "From Beyond the Stars", in-game description: "Collect and return all spaceship parts" |
We don't list a cash reward for the parts: sources disagree and there is no confirmation. Only the Space Docker and the trophy are certain. The other achievements are on the GTA 5 achievements page.
Tips to collect the parts faster
- Do the "aerial" spots together. #9, 12, 15 and 20 are in Los Santos. Take a helicopter and clear them in one flight, starting with the hospital helipad (#9).
- Combine with the letter scraps. Part #32 and letter scrap #32 are in the same Coveted Cove cave, so you only need to swim in once. Other sets, such as peyote plants and stunt jumps, are listed in the GTA 5 collectibles section.
- Take your time at the bridges. #42 and 43 are both in Raton Canyon, but they are different: the first is on the riverbank, the second on the pillar of the tall highway bridge. On the way you can fly under the bridges from the Under the Bridge collection.
GTA 5 spaceship parts FAQ
Where do I find Omega in GTA 5?
By his trailer in Grand Senora Desert, east of Sandy Shores. The "Far Out" mission appears for Franklin after the story mission "Fame or Shame".
Why can't I see any spaceship parts?
They only appear after the "Far Out" mission. Before Franklin talks to Omega, the parts are not in the world.
What do you get for all the spaceship parts in GTA 5?
The Space Docker buggy after "The Final Frontier" mission and the "From Beyond the Stars" trophy. Sources disagree about a cash reward, so we don't list one.
Are spaceship parts required for 100% in GTA 5?
Yes. "Far Out" and "The Final Frontier" are part of Franklin's Strangers and Freaks, which are needed for 100% completion of GTA 5, and the second mission only unlocks after all 50 parts.
