All 37 Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes: infinite ammo, money, horses, honor, Dead Eye. How to enter them on PS4/PS5, Xbox and PC, which newspapers unlock the rest, and why the game stops saving after a cheat.
How to enter a cheat in Red Dead Redemption 2
- Pause the game and open Settings.
- Press Triangle (PlayStation), Y (Xbox) or Enter (PC) to open the Cheats menu.
- Press Triangle / Y / Enter again to bring up the text field. Type the phrase exactly, punctuation included.
- Turn the cheat on with the toggle in the same menu. You turn it off there too.
Important: saving. As soon as you activate any cheat, the game stops saving, both manually and automatically. So enter the phrases you need first, save, and only then switch them on. A phrase that is entered but not activated does not block saving.
How to unlock cheats with newspapers
Some phrases are available from the first minute. The rest only appear after you buy a specific newspaper issue at a certain point in the story: the New Hanover Gazette, the Saint Denis Times or the Blackwater Ledger. Newspapers are sold by paperboys in town: Valentine, Saint Denis, Rhodes, Blackwater, Strawberry, Annesburg.
The phrase is printed in a small line at the bottom of the back page: open your Satchel → Documents → Newspapers and flip the page. You have to actually look at the paper; just having it in your inventory is not enough. If a requirement is not met yet, the game tells you when you enter the phrase.

What RDR2 does not have
- Invincibility. There is no god mode cheat in the game.
- Cheats for Red Dead Online. The codes only work in Story Mode. Programs that promise money or gold in Online break Rockstar's rules and put your account at risk of a ban.
- An official list from Rockstar. We put this table together from the GamesRadar and PC Gamer guides and the fan site rdr2.org; the phrases match word for word in all three.
Everything about the game is on the Red Dead Redemption 2 page. Cheats for other games: GTA 6.
