What Bully is about
Bully is an open-world adventure from Rockstar Vancouver. The hero, 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins, is dropped off at the private boarding school Bullworth Academy, which is run by cliques: nerds, preppies, jocks and greasers. Jimmy goes to class, takes on jobs, fights bullies and slowly earns a place in every crowd.
Instead of guns you get a slingshot, firecrackers and your fists; instead of police there are school prefects. Classes are separate minigames, and passing them gives Jimmy new abilities. In Europe the PS2 game was released as Canis Canem Edit.
People call Bully a "little GTA": the same open-world formula with missions, only with a school town instead of a city. Its age ratings are softer than GTA's: ESRB Teen, PEGI 16.

Scholarship Edition is the expanded re-release with extra content; it is the version sold on PC and the one that runs on Xbox. The PS4 version emulates the original PS2 game, with 1080p output and trophies. Anniversary Edition is the mobile port made for the game's tenth birthday.

On PC the cheapest legal option is Steam, especially while the sale lasts; the Rockstar Store sells the same Scholarship Edition. Sites offering a "free" Bully hand out pirated builds that come with malware risk and no updates.
Bully on GTA+
Since August 20, 2024, Bully has been part of the GTA+ library on consoles. Subscribers on PS5 and PS4 get the PS2 version; on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One they get Scholarship Edition. Since May 1, 2025, GTA+ also unlocks Anniversary Edition on iOS and Android. GTA+ costs $7.99 a month in the US and is aimed mainly at GTA Online, so subscribing just for Bully makes little sense: the game on its own costs less than two months of the subscription.

Rockstar does not list recommended specs: any modern laptop runs the game with room to spare. You can buy and launch it through Steam or the Rockstar Games Launcher.
Which languages Bully supports
The PC version is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, with full voice acting only in English and French. The mobile Anniversary Edition supports more languages. For an English-speaking player nothing is missing: English is the game's original language, and every version has it. Rockstar does not support fan translations, so install those only after backing up your game files.
Bully 2: what is official and what is only rumor
Official: Rockstar has never announced Bully 2 and has not commented on reports about it. As of October 2026 there is no title, no trailer and no platforms.
What people connected to Rockstar have said:
- Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser, who left the company in 2020, told IGN in September 2025 that the sequel never happened because of "bandwidth issues". Those are his words, not a Rockstar statement.
- VGC reported in 2019, citing anonymous sources, that Rockstar New England worked on a prototype for about a year and a half before the project faded out. Rockstar declined to comment.
- Game Informer in 2021 relayed accounts from former developers: work started in 2008–2009 and the map was meant to be bigger than the original's. Then the team was moved to other projects.
- Insider Tom Henderson believed in 2021–2022 that something was in the works for the series. Nothing was ever shown.
In 2024 Taiwan's ratings board rated Bully for PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC, and the internet started talking about a remaster. It turned out to be the GTA+ re-release. Any "Bully 2 release dates" you find online are made up.
