What the game is about
GTA Vice City was developed by Rockstar North. The year is 1986: mobster Tommy Vercetti arrives in Vice City to close a deal for his family. The deal is ambushed, the money and the goods vanish, and Tommy has to find who is responsible while building his own criminal empire along the way.
Vice City is a fictional city heavily influenced by Miami; the story draws on the films Scarface and Carlito's Way and the TV series Miami Vice. The game is known for its '80s soundtrack on the radio stations, its neon waterfront and the ability to buy properties that bring in income.
Tommy is voiced by Ray Liotta. The rest of the cast includes Tom Sizemore (Sonny Forelli), Philip Michael Thomas (Lance Vance), Luis Guzmán (Ricardo Diaz), William Fichtner (Ken Rosenberg), Burt Reynolds (Avery Carrington), Danny Dyer (Kent Paul) and Fairuza Balk (Mercedes).

The original GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas were pulled from console and PC digital stores on October 13, 2021. "Vice City Remastered" is the 2021 Definitive Edition. Rockstar has not announced any other remaster or remake.

Languages: voice acting and subtitles
Voice acting is English only, so English speakers get the game as it was recorded. The original PC release had text in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The Definitive Edition has more subtitle languages, adding Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Latin American Spanish, among others.
Online, mods and GTA 6
Vice City has no official online mode: it is a single-player game. Fan multiplayer and graphics mods exist for the PC original, but Rockstar did not make them; under the Mod Guidelines of September 10, 2026, multiplayer mods are allowed only through the official Creator Platform, and "remakes" on other engines break the ban on porting content between games.
Players will see a modern Vice City in GTA 6: the new game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, and Vice City is among the officially named locations.
GTA Vice City cheats
Vice City cheats work the same way as in San Andreas: on PC you type a word during play (ASPIRINE for health, PANZER for a tank), on consoles you enter a button combo, and in the mobile Definitive Edition you use the Accessibility menu.
