GTA 6 editions: how Ultimate differs from Standard and what's in the collector's box

On its support page "Grand Theft Auto VI Platform Editions and Versions", Rockstar lists only two editions of the game, Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition, plus a separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade for anyone who already bought Standard. Both editions are available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Separately, Rockstar sells a collector's box, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. It often gets called a "collector's edition", but it is a merch set: the game is sold separately.

Prices are the regular pre-order prices on the storefronts as of October 31, 2026. In the eurozone the editions cost €79.99 and €99.99, the Xbox upgrade €20 and The Goodtime State €399.99. On PlayStation Store the upgrade price isn't shown on the game page yet. The full country-by-country table is on the GTA 6 price page.

Ultimate is the game plus a set of extra content that Rockstar has woven into the story: new items unlock with each chapter of Jason and Lucia's story rather than all landing in your garage at once. Here is what's included, per the game's site and PlayStation Store.

Vehicles

• '95 Grotti Cheetah sports car;
• Ganado Retro Build;
• '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy together with the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay;
• Shitzu Squalo speedboat;
• vehicles for Jason's hideout: a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest kayak;
• Classic Car Collection, a set of classic cars commissioned by the fixer Wyman.

Weapons

• Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers;
• signature weapon variants: Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17.

Clothing and looks

• Vice City Style: outfits, hairstyles and tattoos;
• Goodtime Gear: clothing inspired by the Macca the Gator mascot.

Properties and businesses exclusive to Ultimate

• PTT Youngin$ gang compound;
• Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s tuning shops;
• Sara’s Unisex Salon and the Stock 305 clothing store;
• Electric Fang Tattoo parlor with more than 50 tattoos by the FAILE art collective.

Rockstar describes the Ultimate content as vehicles, weapons, clothing, properties and businesses. The company hasn't mentioned any story missions exclusive to Ultimate owners, so Jason and Lucia's story itself is most likely the same in both editions.

The Vintage Vice City Pack goes to everyone who buys GTA 6 before November 20, 2026: digital or boxed, Standard or Ultimate. It includes:

• a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and a garage;
• 80s-style outfits and hairstyles for both protagonists;
• an exclusive palm-tree weapon livery.

A month of GTA+ comes only with a digital pre-order. You have to redeem it manually in the store: on PlayStation Store the offer covers purchases until November 19 and redemption until March 31, 2027; on the Xbox Store, purchases until November 19 and redemption within 180 days. After the free month the subscription renews automatically.

What GTA+ is: a subscription Rockstar has sold for GTA Online since 2022. It costs $7.99 a month and gives GTA$500,000 monthly, GTA Online bonuses and a library of classic Rockstar games. Rockstar hasn't said whether GTA+ will offer anything in GTA 6 itself. So if you redeem the month now, it will run out before launch; it makes more sense to hold off until closer to November 19, or until you actually want GTA Online.

You don't have to buy Ultimate up front. The Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be bought any time on PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store, before or after launch. If you own the boxed Standard, redeem the code from the box first, then buy the upgrade.

On the Xbox Store the upgrade costs $20 / £20 / €20, exactly the difference between the editions in dollars and euros (in pounds the gap is also £20). On PlayStation Store the upgrade price isn't shown on the game page yet. The upgrade doesn't include a month of GTA+, and you get the Vintage Vice City Pack with the game itself if you bought it before November 20.

On September 24, 2026, Rockstar opened pre-orders for the collector's box The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. Rockstar states plainly that the game is sold separately. Inside:

• a 6-inch Macca the Gator figure with a secret compartment;
• Oakley Frogskins sunglasses and a New Era 9FORTY cap;
• a magnetic mirror, a stirring spoon and a keychain;
• a Leonida Keys bag and a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass;
• a set of pins in a tin, stickers;
• a double-sided poster with a map of Leonida.

The box ships on November 19, 2026, in a limited run. The price of $399.99 / €399.99 / £349.99 is reported by GamingBolt, PSU and other outlets, citing the Rockstar Store.

The physical version of GTA 6 is a code in a box, with no disc inside. It exists only for Standard and goes on sale on November 12, 2026, the same day preloading opens. Ultimate isn't sold in a box.
