Which GTA San Andreas side missions you need for 100% and what they give you

Updated: 06.11.2026 Author: Alex Rayne
CJ on a dirt bike next to a train with enemies standing on its roof in mobile GTA San Andreas

GTA San Andreas side missions: 4 schools, vigilante, paramedic, firefighter, taxi, pimping, freight train, asset missions, 25 races, stadium events and car export. What you need for 100% and the rewards.

In short
  • 4 schools (33 tests): bronze in every test is enough for 100%; silver and gold only unlock vehicles.
  • Vigilante, paramedic and firefighter take 12 levels in a row, pimping 10, taxi 50 fares, freight train 2 levels.
  • Asset missions: courier in three cities at 4 levels each, RS Haul trucking (8), quarry (7), valet (5).
  • 25 races at $10,000 each and $1,000,000 for all of them, 4 stadium events, 3 car export lists.
  • Burglary and the Lowrider Challenge are not needed for 100%.
  • 100% also needs the 3 gym fighting styles, the Ammu-Nation shooting range and 5 hidden challenges: BMX, NRG-500 and the three Chiliad Challenge races.

Schools: what you need for 100% and which vehicles they unlock

Bronze in every test at all four schools is enough for 100%. Gold in all 33 tests is only needed for "110%".

SchoolWhere and whenTestsBronze / silver / gold
Driving SchoolTurning Tricks, Doherty (San Fierro), after Deconstruction12Super GT / Bullet / Hotknife
Pilot SchoolVerdant Meadows (Bone County), story mission "Learning to Fly"10Rustler / Stuntplane / Hunter
Boat SchoolBayside Marina (Tierra Robada), after Deconstruction; no wanted level after Yay Ka-Boom-Boom5Marquis / Squalo / Jetmax
Bike SchoolTurning Tricks, Blackfield (Las Venturas), after Deconstruction; 4 wanted stars before Yay Ka-Boom-Boom6Freeway / FCR-900 / NRG-500

The driving school also unlocks the races and the purchase of Wang Cars. You cannot skip the pilot school: the story does not move on without it, and at the end CJ gets his pilot’s license and access to the airports. In the Definitive Edition, fully completing a school earns the School’s Out achievement.

Vehicle side missions

These jobs start with the sub-mission button while CJ is in the right vehicle.

Side missionVehicleFor 100%Reward

BurglaryBoxBurg, only 20:00–06:00not needed$3,000 and infinite sprint for $10,000 of loot

PowerPyx says taxis get nitro and hydraulics rather than the jump; most sources say nitro and jump. Definitive Edition achievements for these side missions are on the achievements page.

Asset missions: courier, trucking, quarry and valet

AssetWhere and whenFor 100%Reward
CourierRoboi’s Food Mart, Commerce (BMX, from the start of the game); Hippy Shopper, Queens (Freeway, no wanted level after The Green Sabre); Burger Shot, Redsands East (Faggio, after Yay Ka-Boom-Boom)4 levels in each citycash for time and packages
Trucking (RS Haul)Flint County, after Catalina’s "Tanker Commander"; the last 2 after Yay Ka-Boom-Boom8 missionsup to $33,500 for the series
Quarry (Hunter Quarry)Bone County, after "Explosive Situation"7 missions$29,000 in total
ValetVank Hoff hotel, Downtown San Fierro, after "555 We Tip"5 levels (3 to 7 cars)$1,500 in total

Once completed, each location becomes an asset and generates up to $2,000. Houses and other businesses you can buy are in the properties section.

Quarry: 7 missions according to GTA Wiki and GTABase; gta-sanandreas says 9, but no other source backs that up.

Gyms and the Ammu-Nation shooting range

Gyms open after the mission Drive-Thru, when Sweet calls. Each gym's trainer teaches a fighting style, but only once CJ has at least 35% muscle. You win the style in a sparring match, and each new one replaces the previous. All three are needed for 100% (GTA Wiki, GTABase, gta-sanandreas).

GymWhereStyle
Ganton GymGanton, Los Santosboxing
Cobra Martial ArtsGarcia, San Fierrokung fu
Below the Belt GymRedsands East, Las VenturasGTA Wiki: kickboxing; GTABase and gta-sanandreas: Muay Thai

Per GTA Wiki, if you give up mid-sparring, CJ loses all his weapons. It happens most easily at Cobra, where stepping off the mat is enough.

The Ammu-Nation shooting range has 4 weapons with 3 rounds each against two opponents. Pistol and Micro SMG unlock after Doberman, shotgun after The Green Sabre, AK-47 after Yay Ka-Boom-Boom. All four pay $10,000, and the rounds raise your skill with that weapon (GTA Wiki, gta-sanandreas). Several Ammu-Nation stores have the range, including Downtown Los Santos and Ocean Flats in San Fierro. More on the guns on the GTA San Andreas weapons page.

Races: 25 events and $1,000,000

WhereHow manyRaces
Los Santos, Little Mexico9Lowrider Race, Little Loop, Backroad Wanderer, City Circuit, Vinewood, Freeway, Into the Country, Badlands A, Badlands B
San Fierro, behind Wang Cars6Dirtbike Danger, Bandito County, Go-Go Karting, San Fierro Fastlane, San Fierro Hills, Country Endurance
Las Venturas, LVA Freight Depot4SF to LV, Dam Rider, Desert Tricks, LV Ringroad
Las Venturas Airport (air races)6World War Ace, Barnstorming, Military Service, Chopper Checkpoint, Whirly Bird Waypoint, Heli Hell

For 100% you need first place in all 25. Air races have no opponents and no time limit; you just have to finish. Lowrider Race, Badlands A and Badlands B count automatically in the story missions "High Stakes, Low-Rider", "Wu Zi Mu" and "Farewell, My Love…".

The reward is $10,000 for each race except the story ones, plus $1,000,000 for all of them. GTABase also says $10,000 in its text but lists $1,000 in its infobox; Fandom and PowerPyx say $10,000.

In the original game the races unlock after the Verdant Meadows cutscene and the driving school (GTABase also adds the Wu Zi Mu mission). According to GTA Wiki, in the mobile version and the DE they are available right after Deconstruction, but you still need the driving school.

Stadium events

EventWhereFor 100%Reward
8-TrackLos Santos Forum; requires 20% driving skill1st place, 12 laps in the Hotring Racer$10,000; the Hotring Racer and Monster appear outside the stadium
Blood BowlCorvin Stadium, Foster Valleybuild up 1 minute, checkpoints give 15 s each$10,000 per minute; Bloodring Banger outside the stadium
KickstartBlackfield Stadium, every day except Monday and Wednesdayat least 26 points in 4 min on the Sanchez$100 per point: from $2,600 for the minimum 26; Dune outside the stadium
Dirt TrackBlackfield Stadium, Monday and Wednesday only; 20% bike skill1st place, 6 laps on the Sanchez$25,000; BF Injection outside the stadium

Stadium reward vehicles are per GTA Wiki and gta-sanandreas. On Kickstart there's no real conflict: gta-sanandreas says "$2,600–6,800", i.e. it counts from the 26-point minimum. Per GTA Wiki, the best possible score is 61 points ($6,100), or 68 ($6,800) in the PS3 version and the Definitive Edition.

The Lowrider Challenge by Unity Station stands apart (a rhythm game with bets up to $1,000): it is not needed for 100%, so do not mix it up with the Lowrider Race. BMX, NRG-500 and the Chiliad Challenge are covered in the "Hidden challenges" section below.

Hidden challenges: BMX, NRG-500 and the Chiliad Challenge

ChallengeWhere and howReward
BMX ChallengeGlen Park skate park, Los Santos: get on the BMX; needs at least 20% cycling skill; collect all the checkpoints in time$1,000
NRG-500 ChallengeEaster Basin dry dock, San Fierro: get on the NRG-500; collect all the checkpoints in time$1,000
Chiliad Challenge 1: Scotch Bonnet Yellow Routetop of Mount Chiliad: get on the mountain bike and be first down to Angel Pine$500
Chiliad Challenge 2: Birdseye Windersame place, unlocks after race 1$1,000
Chiliad Challenge 3: Cobra Runstarts halfway down the mountain; stunt jump No. 38 is on the route$2,000

All five are needed for 100% (GTABase, GTA Wiki). The rewards are the same in GTA Wiki and gta-sanandreas. After the NRG-500 Challenge you can keep the bike.

Car export

Export unlocks after Cesar’s mission "Customs Fast Track". The ship is docked at Easter Basin in San Fierro. For 100% you need to deliver all 3 lists of 10 cars each, 30 in total.

The maximum payout is $1,444,000: $1,094,000 for 30 undamaged cars plus list bonuses of $50,000, $100,000 and $200,000. In the Definitive Edition, completing all three lists earns the A Legitimate Business achievement. Where to find the cars on the lists is covered in the GTA San Andreas vehicles section.

Side missions in the mobile version and the Definitive Edition

The 100% requirements are the same in every version. Only GTA Wiki describes some changes; other sources do not confirm them:

  • according to GTA Wiki, the mobile driving school has no Spin and Go test, and Burn and Lap is 3 laps instead of 5; the bike school has no The Stoppie or Jump & Stoppie. Definitive Edition guides (GameRant, PowerPyx) list the full set of tests;
  • according to GTA Wiki, in the mobile version and the DE, 8-Track has 6 laps and 7 opponents instead of 12 and 11, and Blood Bowl requires 20% driving skill.

More on the differences between versions is on the GTA San Andreas mobile page.
