Where to play GTA San Andreas in 2026: PC, consoles and mobile with prices

In 2026 you can officially buy GTA San Andreas in two forms. The first is The Definitive Edition, the updated version released on November 11, 2021 as part of the trilogy with GTA III and Vice City. The second is the mobile versions for iPhone and Android: the original 2013 port and the mobile Definitive Edition, out since December 2023.

• PC: Rockstar Store (Rockstar Games Launcher), Steam (since January 19, 2023) and the Epic Games Store.
• PlayStation: a single "PS5 & PS4" edition, so one purchase covers both consoles.
• Xbox: Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Series S included.
• Nintendo Switch: the trilogy on the Nintendo eShop.
• iPhone and Android: standalone Rockstar Games apps on the App Store and Google Play.

The old PS2, original Xbox, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are no longer sold digitally. San Andreas never came to PSP at all: for that handheld Rockstar made Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories.

Prices come from official US storefronts on November 2, 2026 and can change any day.

San Andreas DE is not sold separately on PC or consoles: on Steam each game's page leads to the trilogy. More on what the edition includes is on our GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition price page, and the phone versions are covered in GTA San Andreas mobile.

On PC, no. On October 13, 2021, ahead of the Definitive Edition, the originals were pulled from digital stores. The Steam page now says San Andreas is no longer available on the Steam store. In December 2021 Rockstar added the originals to the libraries of Definitive Edition PC owners, but that offer only covered purchases made before June 30, 2022.

On Xbox, the Xbox 360 version of San Andreas runs on Xbox One and Series through backward compatibility, but its Xbox Store page has no price: you can play it only if you bought it earlier. Searching for "San Andreas" on the PlayStation Store now shows only the trilogy.

The only original still on sale is the 2013 mobile port (developed by War Drum Studios, according to the App Store listing). It looks closer to the classic game than the Definitive Edition does.

Before launch, Rockstar described these changes (as reported by Game Informer and Push Square, October 2021):

• new high-resolution textures, reworked lighting and longer draw distances;
• controls and targeting brought closer to GTA V, with updated weapon and radio wheels;
• map waypoints and mission restarts after a failure.

The mobile San Andreas – Definitive runs on Unreal Engine, according to its App Store listing. The 2021 launch went badly, with press reports of bugs and odd character models. Many patches followed; according to Wikipedia, a lighting option in the style of the originals arrived in November 2024.

Language: Steam lists English audio for the trilogy plus subtitles in several languages. System requirements, story and characters are on our GTA San Andreas page.

GTA+. This is Rockstar's GTA Online membership on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The trilogy is part of the GTA+ Games Library: on November 2, 2026 the trilogy's PlayStation Store page shows it as included for members. Rockstar lists GTA+ at $7.99 a month. Library games stay available while the membership is active.

Netflix. Netflix members used to get the trilogy on phones, but not anymore: GTA III and Vice City left in December 2024, and San Andreas on December 12, 2025. Many older articles still say "free with Netflix", which is no longer true. The Rockstar game on Netflix Games now is Red Dead Redemption.

• PC: the trilogy on Steam for $59.99, with all three games in one purchase.
• PS5 or PS4: one purchase for both consoles; with GTA+ the trilogy is already available.
• Phone: the original port for $6.99 if you want the classic look, or Definitive for $19.99 with new graphics.
• Switch: the portable option with a proper controller, and currently the cheapest during the eShop sale.
