Every GTA 5 radio station: genres and hosts, from Los Santos Rock Radio with Kenny Loggins to West Coast Classics with DJ Pooh, the new songs in the next-gen and PC versions, stations added by updates and the ones that are GTA Online only.
How the radio works in GTA 5
You switch GTA 5 radio stations with the radio wheel: it opens in a vehicle and shows every available station at once. Each station has its own host, its own ads and its own bumpers, so the radio isn't just a playlist here but part of the game's satire.
Besides the radio, GTA 5 has its own mission music. It was written by Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist and Oh No, and in tense moments the game mixes this score in instead of, or on top of, the broadcast.
Every GTA 5 radio station in Story Mode
Station and artist names are in English, as in the game. Hosts were checked against two fan encyclopedias (the GTA Wiki on Fandom and Grand Theft Wiki), and the later stations against press coverage of the relevant updates.

What changed in the next-gen and PC versions
The 2014 re-release for PS4 and Xbox One, and then the PC version, added 162 new songs to the stations. The new tracks play alongside the old ones, so the playlists got noticeably longer. The same tracks are in today's PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC Enhanced versions.
The second big change is The Lab. Rockstar announced it in March 2015 together with the PC version: it's hosted by producers The Alchemist and Oh No, who also worked on the game's score. At first the station was a PC exclusive, and with the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 update on July 8, 2015 it came to all platforms.
Later the game got stations from GTA Online updates that are also available in Story Mode:
- blonded Los Santos 97.8 FM: Frank Ocean's station, from The Doomsday Heist update (December 2017);
- Los Santos Underground Radio: house and techno, added in the 2018 GTA Online updates;
- iFruit Radio: hosted by Danny Brown with Skepta as a guest, from The Diamond Casino Heist update (December 2019).
PC also has Self Radio, a station that plays the player's own audio files from a folder in the game directory.
Stations that are GTA Online only
Rockstar added a few stations to the online mode only. They're not in GTA 5 Story Mode (that's how the GTA Wiki splits them; Rockstar hasn't published a separate list).
| Station | Genre | Hosts | Update and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kult FM 99.1 | post-punk, indie rock | Julian Casablancas | The Cayo Perico Heist, Dec 15, 2020 |
| Still Slipping Los Santos | electronic, house, techno | Joy Orbison | The Cayo Perico Heist, Dec 15, 2020 |
| The Music Locker | house, disco, techno | — | The Cayo Perico Heist, Dec 15, 2020 |
| MOTOMAMI Los Santos | Latin music, house, electronic | ROSALÍA and Arca | The Contract, Dec 15, 2021 |
Along with The Contract in December 2021, Rockstar also added new tracks by Dr. Dre and other artists to Radio Los Santos and West Coast Classics in GTA Online. For how other online updates work, see the GTA Online section.
More about GTA 5
The radio sounds best on the road: the cars and the fastest rides are covered on GTA 5 vehicles, the districts of Los Santos and Blaine County on the GTA 5 map, and the three protagonists in GTA 5 characters. Everything about the game itself, prices and platforms is on the GTA 5 main page.
