The first Red Dead Redemption, starring John Marston: every version from PS3 to PS5, PC and mobile, US prices, system requirements, languages, Undead Nightmare and GTA+.
What the game is about
Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar's western about John Marston, a former member of Dutch van der Linde's gang. Federal agents force him to hunt down his old associates, and the story takes him from frontier New Austin to Mexico. It's set a few years after Red Dead Redemption 2, which is a prequel: there, John is one of the gang alongside Arthur Morgan.
The game includes Undead Nightmare, a separate zombie-horror expansion campaign with the same characters and map.
What to play it on: every version
| Platform | When | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| PS3, Xbox 360 | 2010 | the original; runs on Xbox One and Series through backward compatibility |
| PS4, Nintendo Switch | August 17, 2023 | a port without multiplayer, 30 fps, with Undead Nightmare |
| PC (Rockstar Store, Steam, Epic) | October 29, 2024 | up to 4K and 144 Hz, DLSS 3.7, FSR 3.0 |
