How to buy and download GTA 6 legally: step by step for PS5 and Xbox

1. Sign in to PlayStation Store on your PS5 or at store.playstation.com.
2. Find Grand Theft Auto VI and pick an edition: Standard ($79.99 / £69.99 / €79.99) or Ultimate ($99.99 / £89.99 / €99.99).
3. Pay with a card or your PlayStation wallet funds.
4. Once paid, the game appears in your library. Pre-loading starts on November 12, and you can launch the game on November 19.

If you buy a boxed code, check that it matches your account's region. PlayStation codes are region-locked: North America and the UK are separate groups, while Germany, Poland and many other European countries share the "Rest of EMEA and Asia" group. A UK code will not activate on a US account.

1. Open Microsoft Store on your Xbox Series X|S or go to xbox.com.
2. Choose Standard or Ultimate; the prices are the same as on PlayStation ($79.99 / $99.99 in the US).
3. After purchase the game is added to your library, and pre-loading opens on November 12.

Xbox codes have no region lock, so a code from any legal store will activate. Buy only from trusted sellers: codes from resellers can be stolen or already used. The game is also sold on the Rockstar Store and at retailers as a boxed code; there is no disc inside.

There are no free, "cracked" or "repack" versions of GTA 6: the game is not out yet, and piracy on consoles is practically impossible. These names are used to spread malware, fake "code generators" and pages that harvest card details. We do not link to pirated copies and do not recommend looking for them.
