When GTA 6 comes out and what you can play it on
Rockstar Games has set the release for November 19, 2026. The game is coming only to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; PlayStation Store also lists it as PS5 Pro Enhanced.
Rockstar delayed the game twice to get here. Trailer 1 in December 2023 promised 2025. In May 2025 the date moved to May 26, 2026, and on November 6, 2025 it moved again to November 19, 2026. Take-Two's August 2026 earnings report bases its full-year forecast on the November launch, so nothing points to another delay.
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, and pre-loading starts on November 12. Rockstar has not announced an unlock time. PlayStation Store data points to midnight local time, which is 12:00 AM ET in the US and 12:00 AM GMT in the UK, but this is not officially confirmed.

How much GTA 6 costs
There are only two editions: Standard and Ultimate. Take-Two's suggested prices are $79.99 and $99.99, and that is what PlayStation Store and Xbox Store charge in the US. In the UK it is £69.99 and £89.99, in the eurozone €79.99 and €99.99.
Ultimate is digital-only. Standard comes digital or boxed, but the box holds a download code, not a disc. Everyone who buys before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Prices in other currencies, the full Ultimate contents and the PlayStation region rules are on a separate page: how much GTA 6 costs.
Story and characters: Jason and Lucia
There are two leads, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rockstar sums up their story briefly: the two "have always known the deck is stacked against them", and a simple job gone wrong pulls them into the darkest conspiracy in the state of Leonida.
Rockstar is keeping the rest of the plot under wraps, and we do not publish leaked details. The "80 hours" figure in headlines is developer Rob Nelson's own playthrough, including some side content, as he told The New York Times. It is not an official length for the game.
Where the game is set: Vice City and Leonida
The series returns to Vice City, its take on Miami, but this time the city is just one part of the state of Leonida, the game's version of Florida. Rockstar's official descriptions mention Leonida Keys, Gambit Bay, Washington Beach, Watson Bay, Mount Kalaga, Lake Leonida, Stockyard and Ocean Beach.
Rockstar has not given the map's area. According to Rob Nelson of Rockstar North, Vice City alone is twice the size of Los Santos from GTA 5, and The New York Times reports that the whole map is roughly three times larger than RDR 2. More on the GTA 6 map page.

Languages, voice acting and age ratings
The voice acting is English only, so English-speaking players get the game exactly as it was recorded. Subtitles and menus are available in 13 languages, including Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Portuguese (Brazil), French, German and Polish. There is no dubbing in any other language.
The age ratings are the highest everywhere: ESRB Mature 17+ in the US, PEGI 18 in the UK, Spain and Poland, USK 18 in Germany.
The full list is on the GTA 6 languages page.
Will GTA 6 have an online mode, a PC version or a mobile version
Online. Rockstar calls GTA 6 a "single player experience". There is no date for an online mode; Bloomberg and insiders point to 2027, but that is unofficial. Rockstar keeps updating the existing GTA Online.
PC. A PC version has not been announced. Headlines about an "official PC release date" repeat general comments from Take-Two's CEO and are not an announcement. Rockstar's previous games came to PC later, so expect a wait.
Mobile. There is no mobile version of GTA 6. Any "GTA 6 APK" is fake, and security researchers have already found password-stealing malware under that name.
